Structure
APPAN is coordinated by a secretariat which is located at the Centre for Physical Activity and Health (CPAH) at the
University of Sydney, Australia.
Its functions include membership registration, APPAN website maintenance, coordination of network activities and events (e.g. conferences, seminars, workshops, teleconferences) and support of communications between APPAN members.

The Centre for Physical Activity and Health, based within the School of Public Health at the University of Sydney, is a team of experts in the field of physical activity and public health. The Centre is staffed by public health researchers and epidemiologists with a special interest in physical activity and in health promotion. The Centre focuses on physical activity epidemiology, PA measurement research, the design and evaluation of interventions to increase physical activity and policy research related to physical activity and health. The centre conducts a number of international projects in the Asia pacific region and elsewhere around physical activity in the context of non-communicable disease prevention.

A steering committee, comprising network members from different countries across the region was established in 2006. The committee will support and enhance the work of APPAN and has begun to meet regularly by international teleconference.
